For the 2015-16 season, there was only one district player on the Kougars’ 11-man roster.
Buss said there’s really no difference with the roster being made up of so many local players.
“Our administration wants to go in that direction, so that’s the situation we’re out in,” Buss said. “They put a lot of restrictions on what we can do recruiting-wise. A lot of the things we’ve had in the past we don’t have anymore. So that’s the direction we’re pushed to go to.”
“For the region, with guys like Landon ... it was a little deeper than it normally is,” Buss said. “And a lot of these guys are good students. Landon is 3.8. Blalock is a 3.0. ... We were fortunate and very happy with the way they’ve done academically. It’s a big plus.”
