DeKALB – The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of DeKalb, 158 N. Fourth St., will host a winter farmers market with local artisans from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $1.
“There will be over 30 vendors,” market coordinator Dan Kenney said in a news release. “Many of the vendors are with the market for the first time.”
Hasselmann Family Farm will offer grass-fed beef, pork, poultry, eggs, sausage and locally sourced cheese, all organically and humanely raised. There also will be locally raised honey and baked goods provided by Monika Merryman of Sycamore, and German, French and Greek baked goods.
DeKalb County Community Gardens will have sign-ups for their Box of Hope CSA program and NIU/DCCG Communiversity Gardens will offer items for sale. Hope Haven Kids will be selling handmade items.
In addition to the farmers, the market will feature artists and crafters from the DeKalb County area selling a variety of items, including metal jewelry, crocheted items, hooked rugs, goat-milk soap, hats, original paintings, photography, ceramics, weaving supplies and more.
Hot food, soup and drinks will be available for purchase, and there will be live music all day on the stage.
