DeKALB – The DeKalb Public Library once again is hosting AARP Tax-Aide volunteers to assist low- and middle-income taxpayers with their tax returns. Help will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 10 through April 14, in the adult study rooms in the Haish building.
Participants are asked to bring a photo ID, all tax documents, and last year’s tax return. Assistance is provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free tax preparation help to anyone age 50 and older who can’t afford a tax preparation service. There are more than 5,000 locations in neighborhood libraries, malls, banks, community centers and senior centers. Since 1968, this volunteer-based program has helped nearly 50 million low- to moderate-income taxpayers.
