Castle Club sponsors trip to see ‘Newsies’ at The Fireside

Members of First National Bank’s Castle Club are planning a trip to see the Broadway musical “Newsies” at The Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, on March 7.

Adapted from the Disney film and set in New York at the turn of the century, “Newsies” is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenage “newsies,” who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. But when publishing titans Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack finds a cause to fight for and rallies newsies from across the city to strike for what’s right.

The stage version includes new songs by the original team of Alan Menken and Jack Feldman while keeping many of the beloved songs from the film such as “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” “King of New York” and “Santa Fe.”

Special pricing for the trip is $92, which includes transportation, lunch, performance and a gratuity for the driver.

For information, call Mary Busch at 815-754-8091.

Castle Club is designed for active adults age 50 and older and features trips and activities, with opportunities to save on bank products and services.

First National Bank, a subsidiary of First National of Nebraska, has 14 banking offices located in DeKalb, Kendall, Kane, Boone and McHenry counties in north-central Illinois.
