Once the DeKalb Public Library Board receives the $4.6 million it’s owed by the state, it will remit money not needed to pay off the rest of a $4.5 million loan to finish construction of the new library to taxpayers. A story published on Page 4 of the Thursday, Jan. 25, edition of the Daily Chronicle reported the nearly $3.5 million the DeKalb Public Library received from the state will be remitted to taxpayers. The board will not take action on a scenario until the state allocates the remaining $1.1 million owed for the library construction. Thursday’s story reported the board is expected to take action on a remittance scenario in February.
The Daily Chronicle regrets the errors.
