DeKALB – A proposal to upgrade communication equipment on the roof of the Taylor Street Plaza at 507 E. Taylor St. will be heard Wednesday by DeKalb’s Planning and Zoning Commission.
The request for a special use permit was made by T-Mobile Central, LLC, represented by Amanda Wegrzyn of NTP Wireless.
Taylor Street Plaza was one of the proposed co-location sites for Central States Tower II, which had proposed building a 140-foot tall cell tower of its own to boost cell service in the city. This proposal was ultimately rejected by the Planning and Zoning Commission and DeKalb City Council, which both felt the petitioner had not satisfied the co-location research requirements of the city.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 6 p.m in the council chambers of the DeKalb Municipal Building on 200 S. Fourth St.
