19-year-old Chicago man faces drug charges after drug raid

Aurora man also charged with resisting police

DEKALB — A 19-year-old Chicago man remained in jail Thursday morning after he was arrested Wednesday night in DeKalb for possession of cocaine and resisting arrest.

DeKalb County Sheriff's Office Narcotics deputies and the DeKalb Police Department Targeted Response Unit conducted a joint narcotics raid just before 9:15 p.m. Wednesday at a home in the 2100 block of East Lincoln Highway. in DeKalb, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Office.

Maurio A. Young, 19, of the 4600 block of West Maple Street, Chicago, and Kamron T. Garraway, 24, of the 1200 block of Second Avenue, Aurora, attempted to run from police and were arrested.

Young was charged with cocaine possession and resisting police, and Garraway was charged with resisting police.

The two were transported to DeKalb County jail, where Garraway posted bond. Young remained in custody pending a bond hearing.
