DETROIT – Leading up to the 2017 Quick Lane Bowl, most fans knew Northern Illinois wouldn’t have starting running back Jordan Huff in its backfield because of a left ankle injury.
Backup tailback Tre Harbison wanted to make sure that after Tuesday’s game, everyone knew his name heading into next season.
Harbison rushed for a career-best 59 yards on 13 carries with one touchdown during NIU’s 36-14 loss to Duke at Ford Field.
“I thought I played really well,” Harbison said. “It was exciting finding out I was going to get my first start as a redshirt freshman. It was a great feeling.”
