DeKALB – St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will host a traditional Holy Communion service with festive musical selections at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve. Choral music will be sung by the adult choir before the service begins. All are welcome.
The service is designed to help adults and children explore and understand the Christmas story, said the Rev. Ed Bird, rector at St. Paul’s.
The choirs will sing special music before the service that they have been preparing to share with the help of music director Lorraine Langer, pianist Hannah Buckle and organist Kathleen Johnson.
The children’s choir has been working to amaze and inspire with one of its favorites, “Do You Hear What I Hear?” The service will close with a candlelight singing of “Silent Night.”
A cookie reception to share Christmas greetings will take place after the service.
All Christians are welcome to receive Holy Communion at St. Paul’s. The church is at 900 Normal Road in DeKalb and is handicapped accessible.
