Jessica Miller, communications manager for Make-A- Wish Illinois, said the best part of granting Angel's wish was being able to show his family that the community supports him.
“Knowing that the community will come together and support a wish like this … we can show that the community cares,” Miller said.
Miller said research has proved that granting wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation helps children battling cancer recover quicker, and it helps lifts their spirits during treatment.
“Wishes do matter,” she said. “They help children feel better and help the healing process.”
