DeKALB – The Egyptian Theatre will celebrate its 88th anniversary with the showing of the holiday classic, “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
The theater is partnering with Thrivent Financial to bring the film to the big screen at 2 p.m. Sunday. Moviegoers can experience the film as it was meant to be seen. It will be shown in its original 35-millimeter format – a format that hasn’t been used in the theater for more than a decade.
The Egyptian also will be “stocking up on socks” for Safe Passage at this event. Anyone donating new men’s, women’s or children’s socks will receive a free popcorn, compliments of Thrivent Financial.
General admission tickets cost $8 for adults and $6 for seniors and students. Tickets can be purchased at the Egyptian Theatre box office from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, by phone at 815-758-1225 or online at www.egyptiantheatre.org.
The Egyptian Theatre is at 135 N. Second St. in downtown DeKalb. It is owned and operated by Preservation of Egyptian Theatre Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
