DeKALB – Wooden Box Theater will host “Even the Stars Fall 4 U,” an event showcasing local theatrical performers, artists and live music, at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, in the Story Room of the DeKalb Public Library.
The event takes its name from the Keith Urban song of the same name, which was featured on his 2013 release, “Fuse.”
“Even the Stars Fall 4 U” will feature guest hosts Kaitlin Burns, Hillary Joy of RGM Realtors, and Mary Vaughn of the touring band, Porcelain. Vaughn will perform a special acoustic set during the event.
Wooden Box Theater last performed at the DeKalb Library in 2011 as part of its event series that year, and as was the case at that event, the group’s lineup will welcome back one of its longtime collaborators, Carrie Morse.
Live music will be provided by Morse, Adam Linder, Bill Leighly, Jaysen Curran, Joel LaVaughn, Vaughn, ForeverStardust and Tyler Spaeth.
The event was written and conceived by Daniel Sherrill and Zephirine Moon Garden.
Wooden Box Theater began on stage during an edition of Open Mic at the House Cafe in the summer of 2006, and continues to evolve into an event directing team which has toured area venues in DeKalb and Kane counties.
The group’s events typically feature a running storyline, along with exclusive live musical performances, and guest hosts, along with theatrical segments.
“Even the Stars Fall 4 U” is the second event in the group’s trilogy of live events titled, “The Re:Emergence of Wooden Box Theater,” which began in October and will wrap on April 21 with “Chasing That Moon: Beatles Nite 8” at University Suite inside the Holmes Student Center at Northern Illinois University.
“Even the Stars Fall 4 U” is free and open to the public. The library is at 309 Oak St. in DeKalb.
