Arcomusical to perform after hours at library

DeKALB – Arcomusical will perform an after-hours concert at the DeKalb Public Library at 7 p.m. Friday.

The ensemble will play holiday music and original pieces for the audience in the library’s main lobby. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. The concert is open to the public.

Arcomusical is a sextet of Afro-Brazilian berimbau musical bows, directed by Gregory Beyer, Northern Illinois University professor and head of percussion studies.

The group’s album, “MeiaMeia,” was on the ballot for consideration for the 2018 Grammy Awards in the category of Best World Music Album. It represents three years of continuous development of their original compositions for this ensemble.

The library is at 309 Oak St. For information, contact Samantha at samanthah@dkpl.org or 815-756-9568, ext. 1701.
