DeKALB – A DeKalb woman and a Sycamore man were ordered to be released on their signatures Wednesday after the man reportedly entered the woman’s window at Suburban Apartments and she cut and chased him with a knife.
Kolby Morningstar, 18, of the 500 block of Victor Street in Sycamore, has been charged with violating his bond, and Jasmine Johns, 18, of the 1300 block of North Annie Glidden Road, has been charged with domestic battery.
Police said in court records that about 5 p.m. Tuesday, Morningstar climbed through Johns’ window. Morningstar recently was accused of scratching Johns’ arm in a separate domestic battery case.
Morningstar told police in court records that he was trying to retrieve his Xbox after he’d slept at Johns’ apartment the night before, and he got into a fight with her earlier Tuesday.
He said that Johns hit him multiple times in the head and stabbed him in the finger before he fled, at which point he said he recorded video of her chasing him with a knife in the parking lot.
Johns is due in court at 9 a.m. Dec. 7, and Morningstar is due at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 15.
Both have been forbidden to have contact with each other.
