HINCKLEY – A two-car crash at the intersection of East County Line Road and Route 30 just east of Hinckley sent both drivers to the hospital, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
The release said a white 1994 Dodge van driven by Dario M. Arciga, 27, of the 600 block of Pierce Street in Aurora, was travelling north on County Line Road when it failed to stop at the sign and T-boned an eastbound red 2010 Lexus driven by Kathleen Lang, 61, of the 14800 block of Chais Court in Hinckley.
Both vehicles left the roadway, knocking down a street sign at the northeast corner of the intersection and rolling before coming to rest in a field to the northeast, the release said.
Both drivers were freed from their vehicles and taken to Mercy Hospital in Aurora, the release said.
Arciga was cited for disobeying a stop sign, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, expired registration and driving while his license was suspended.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, according to the release.
