Sarah Hein took second Saturday at the St. Charles North Sectional to earn a spot in the state meet, which starts Friday at New Trier.
Hein qualified after finishing the 100-meter butterfly in 57.90 seconds.
The DeKalb-Sycamore co-op finished sixth with 108 points. The host North Stars won the meet with 302 points.
Aleida Wilkins narrowly missed a spot in the 100 breaststroke, finishing in 1:06.85 – the qualifying time was 1:06.76. Elissa Roose was fourth in the 100 butterfly in 58.58, missing the qualifying time of 58.18. Hein was within a second of qualifying in the 100 backstroke, finishing with a 59.54.
Davis with another big game in KCC loss: DeKalb grad Luke Davis went for 15 points and 20 rebounds, but the Kougars lost, 72-68.
Fellow DeKalb grad Rudy Lopez had 15 points in the win. Treyson Johnson led the Kougars with 16.
DeKalb grad Darvon Sisson had nine points, three rebounds and three blocks.
