Learn about gluten-free trend at DeKalb Public Library

DeKALB – Hy-Vee dietitian Lisa Brandt will visit the DeKalb Public Library at 6:30 p.m. Thursday to demonstrate how to make tasty items using gluten-free recipes.

The public is invited to sample dishes and learn the latest about gluten.

Brandt earned a Bachelor of Science degree in coordinated dietetics, food and nutrition from Purdue University and is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Illinois Dietetic Association. She has more than 20 years of experience, having worked as a nutritionist with the Women, Infant, Children program, as a college nutrition instructor and as a clinical dietitian.

This program is part of the “A Healthy Mind, in a Healthy Body” initiative between the library and the DeKalb Kiwanis Club. It will be in the lower level Yusunas Meeting Room of the library at 309 Oak St.
