Brian Bartholomew scored in the seventh minute, then Tucker Jahns scored three goals in the second half as Kaneland won at Yorkville, 4-1.
Bartholomew’s goal came on a penalty kick for the Knights (12-3-3, 4-1-2). In the 50th minute, Allen Dominguez assisted Jahns for a 2-0 lead. Yorkville scored five minutes later, but Jahns scored twice, only 27 seconds apart, in the 62nd minute, both assisted by Dominguez.
The Knights will resume conference play Thursday at home against DeKalb in a game that likely will determine the conference champion.

NIU wins at home for first time: The Huskies beat Miami in overtime, 2-1.
Allie Ingham scored the game-winner three minutes into overtime.
“Allie was hunting, and when you can do that, you’re going to score goals in there,” coach John Ross said. “She had the right mentality to go in there and get [the goal] by putting her body on the line, and that’s how you win games.”
NIU (6-5-1, 3-2) scored in the 40th minute, as well, when Haley Hoppe headed a corner kick from Lauren Gierman.
Hoppe has three goals this year, all on Gierman corner kicks.
