MAPLE PARK A farmer lost some equipment Tuesday afternoon after a fire claimed a combine near Maple Park.
Maple Park Fire Protection District firefighters were called about 3:15 p.m. to the fire at 18435 Pritchard Road, less than a mile southwest of Maple Park.
Firefighter Brad Miller said when firefighters arrived on scene, they found a fully involved fire.
Three pieces of fire equipment responded to the call, Miller said – a tanker, an engine and a grass fire truck. Dry conditions were not a concern, Miller said, as the combine had already gone over the field. The fire began as an engine fire, Miller said. It was a total loss.
Crews returned to the firehouse by 4 p.m. No one was injured, Miller said.
