State Rep. Bob Pritchard (above) will appear at the Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce's "Unplugged Politics" event on Thursday with State Sen. Dave Syverson.

GENOA – The Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a lunch event Thursday that will feature a discussion about issues facing Illinois government with the area's representatives in state government.

The chamber's "Unplugged Politics with Rep. Bob Pritchard & Sen. Dave Syverson" is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Genoa Vet's Club, 311 S. Washington St. in Genoa. The event is open to the public and includes a catered lunch.

Tickets cost $15 and are available through the chamber's website, www.business.genoaareachamber.com, or at the door.

Pritchard (R-Hinckley) and Syverson (R-Rockford) have appeared at the event in past years and have done a good job at having candid discussions with constituents, chamber Executive Director Courtney Strohacker said.

"People always say 'I would tell them this, or we should do this,' " Strohacker said. "Well this is your opportunity to have your vioice heard."

For more information, contact the chamber at 815-784-2212.
