DeKalb County libraries’ services will be limited Tuesday as their shared catalog manager moves files to a cloud environment.
Because the server will be down so that the library’s consortium, PrairieCat, can be moved, staff won’t be able to check items in or out, or renew or place holds on them. Services are expected to be restored Wednesday, according to a post on the DeKalb Public Library’s Facebook page.
In the meantime, the DeKalb library’s Wi-Fi will be available, and some libraries, such as those in Sycamore and Genoa, will allow people to check out up to five items, and the handwritten information will be entered into the computer Wednesday. According to the Sycamore library’s Facebook page, it will be able to place holds on items during the outage.
For information, call the DeKalb library at 815-756-9568, the Sycamore library at 815-895-2500, or the Genoa library at 815-784-2627.
