All donors are special. Sometimes during difficult financial times, as experienced by many Illinois social service agencies during the past few years, it takes very committed donors to come to the rescue of a cause that they believe in and that is essential to the health and well-being of seniors.
Fox Valley Older Adult Services recently recognized nine such generous supporters, including Virgil Beukelman, Louise Beukelman, Dave Butterfield, Nicki Butterfield, Cindy Worsley, Chuck Worsley, Jerry Lundeen, Toni Lundeen and Donna McKeown. These heroes, along with annual sponsors, foundations, community, business and individual donors, kept FVOAS open and able to serve more than 1,500 seniors annually. These services benefit seniors in programs that improve and enrich vital, independent living, to enhance dignity and self-respect, and to encourage participation in community life.
FVOAS serves DeKalb, Kane, Kendall, LaSalle and Bureau counties. Besides daily active adult activities at the Fox Valley Community Center, FVOAS offers adult day service and home services. Private nonmedical home services are offered for two hours to 24/7 along with Illinois Department on Aging and rehabilitation services assisted home services.
A daily congregate meal, Meals On Wheels and transportation are also offered with partner Voluntary Action Center.
