MALTA – The DeKalb County Community Foundation will invest $9,500 in grant money into economic development in the village of Malta.
This new planning process, the Malta Seedling Project, seeks to bolster the village’s local economy and make it more attractive to businesses and residents.
“It’s great to see how many people are interested in small community development,” village of Malta President Bob Iversen said in a statement. “We’re really excited to begin this strategic planning process. Thank you to the Community Foundation and Resource Bank for supporting our community.”
Funding came from a $9,000 grant from the foundation and a $500 grant from Resource Bank.
The deadline to submit for the next round of community economic development grants is Aug. 1.
