Donors from DeKalb County and across the globe can support local nonprofit organizations during Give DeKalb County on May 4.
This is the fourth consecutive year that a 24-hour giving day is being coordinated by the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership.
“Give DeKalb County is an opportunity to support organizations that work to enhance the quality of life in DeKalb County,” DCNP Manager Ben Bingle said in a news release. “Our three previous giving days have raised over $773,000, and donations have been made from 30 different states and five different countries all over the world. We hope to build on this momentum on May 4.”
Donations can be made from midnight May 3 to midnight May 4 at www.givedekalbcounty.org. Donors also may choose to give by check at the DeKalb County Community Foundation between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. May 4. The minimum donation amount is $5.
A bonus pool of $50,000 was raised ahead of time and each donation made during Give DeKalb County is boosted by a percentage of these additional funds. The bonus pool is made possible by the generous support of community partners including: DeKalb County Community Foundation, State Farm – Keicher Insurance Agency, Morningstar Media Group, The Suter Company, Ideal Industries, First Midwest Bank, KishHealth System, now part of Northwestern Medicine, the Keleher Family Endowment Fund, Dan and Kathy Schewe, Lynne Waldeland and Paul Callighan.
