Cornerstone Christian Academy Administrator Tom Olmstead promised kindergarten through fifth-grade students that if they raised enough funds for a worthy cause he would have an assembly where the kids could watch a tarantula and ball python crawl on him.

Librarian Donna High challenged primary students to donate their own money to a coin drive for bilingual books to be purchased for The Johannes Gutenburg School in Huanta, Peru.

A team of Cornerstone high school students will visit the school over the Easter week on a missions trip, personally delivering the books.

The Cornerstone high school team also raised funds to purchase playground equipment for this school located nearly 4,000 miles away. The team will assemble the playground equipment while on the trip, and work with the children of the school.

The Midwest Museum of Natural History in Sycamore brought in the promised tarantula and ball python, along with a walking stick insect, on March 17. Students were delighted to see these unique creatures crawl on their school administrator.
