Local author and illustrator Kyle White has published a new book titled “Neighbor As Yourself.”

White lives in Sycamore with his wife and children, and the nonfiction book concentrates on northern Illinois and the Midwest.

“Neighbor As Yourself” is a collection of Midwest essays and poetry on love, death and God, White says. His first book, “Wisconsin River of Grace,” was published by Cornerstone Press in 2009.

White will share stories from the two books, at The House Café on Sunday, Dec. 18. He will be joined in this night of stories and songs by local musicians Greg and Kim Wheaton. Local musician Mark Mannebach also will perform. The cost is $5. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.
