The Sycamore Women's Club donated two books in memory of two club members who died.

Lorena Butts enjoyed fashion, gardening and the Chicago Bears. In her memory, the library purchased the book "The Gardener's Guide to Weather and Climate," by Michael Allaby. This "Science for Gardeners" title is listed as a Gardening Best Book of the Year by the journal Booklist. It provides in-depth information on how weather impacts gardens and the growing season.

Rebina Peterson enjoyed knitting, crafts, drawing and watercolors. In her memory, the book "Botany for the Artist: An Inspirational Guide to Drawing Plants," by Sarah Simblet was purchased. This beautiful book offers a mix of science, drawing suggestions and beautiful illustrations that will inspire all artists who enjoy drawing and painting nature.

"We are pleased to be able to add these wonderful books to the library collection as memorials to Ms. Butts and Ms. Peterson," Sarah Tobias, library executive director, said in a news release. "We are so pleased to be the recipient of these gifts from the Sycamore Women's Club."
