Letter: Support Amato in GOP state's attorney race

To the Editor:

On March 15, three candidates will be on the Republican primary ballot for DeKalb County State's Attorney. In my opinion the choice is clear: Rick Amato.

After 40 years in law enforcement, I know first-hand the importance of having the State's Attorney office run professionally by a prosecutor with integrity, energy and organizational talents. I find that Mr. Amato clearly possesses these qualities.

Rick and his family have lifelong ties to DeKalb County. With degrees from NIU and the John Marshall Law School, he has admirably served this county as an assistant state's attorney and as a founding partner of The Law Officers of Amato and Sheen, P.C.

His website, AmatoforStatesAttorney.com, explains in detail his résumé and goals for the leading the office with expertise and efficiency. He certainly has the dedication and experience to be a superb prosecutorial leader.

Additionally, I encourage your readers to talk to police officers and court officials and ask their opinion of Mr. Amato’s professional qualifications and personal characteristics. You will find that he enjoys a great reputation in the criminal justice community.

This March 15, please draw a Republican ballot and vote for Rick Amato for States Attorney.
