DeKALB – A Northern Illinois University student who police said held a woman against her will for 12 hours as he physically abused and sexually assaulted her remained in jail Monday.
Even if Kevin Biederer, 20, of the 1100 block of West Hillcrest Drive, DeKalb, were to be released from jail, it’s unlikely he’d be allowed on campus.
“Protocol is to ban the student from campus,” university spokesman Joe King said. King said he couldn’t comment on Biederer’s status citing privacy issues regarding the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
Internally, a student could face discipline ranging from sanctions to expulsion.
