Jack Bullard scored three goals for the Hinckley-Big Rock boys soccer team in a 4-3 win over Rochelle.

After being tied at halftime, the Royals came from behind to get two goals in the second half of their season opener. Connor Nelson had the other tally for H-BR, while Bailey McQueen added an assist.

Jason Bohannon was in goal for H-BR, who plays Thursday at Sandwich.

Royals fall: Hinckley-Big Rock suffered a 25-23, 25-21 loss to Sandwich Monday evening in its season opener.

Lexi Gonzalez finished with four aces and five digs for the Royals, while Courtney Carls added five blocks. Megan Menzel added three aces and Karrigan Cowan finished with four digs and three kills.

The Royals will play Thursday at Aurora IMSA.

Kishwaukee Invite cancelled: Monday's Kishwaukee boys golf invite, which featured DeKalb and Sycamore, was not able to be finished because of the bad weather in the area.

Players were able to get a few holes in before rain and lightning forced a stoppage in play.

Barbs coach John Cordes said it was unlikely the meet would be made up. He did say his team would try and get a nine-hole match in with a couple of the teams that were at the meet.
