15 people charged in DeKalb cocaine investigation

DeKALB — Four men appeared in court for the first time Thursday on allegations they sold less than a gram of cocaine to confidential police sources near a school, court records show.

A total of 15 warrants were issued stemming from DeKalb police's investigation, said DeKalb police detective Lt. Bob Redel. Warrants for the four men in court Thursday were issued Wednesday for incidents from Dec. 10 to July 24, court records show.

Will E. Lewis, 25, of the 500 block of Kendall Lane, DeKalb, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful delivery of a lookalike substance. He posted $300 bail Thursday and is next due in court Sept. 10.

Aisha S. Jones, 27, of the 800 block of Crane Drive, DeKalb, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of Northern Illinois University, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. She was unable to post $5,000 bail Thursday and is due in court Friday.

D'Angelo D. Henry, 30, of the 700 block of Russell Drive, DeKalb, was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of NIU, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He was unable to post $7,500 bail Thursday and is due in court Aug. 28.

Devante L. Robinson, 27, of the 7300 block of South Troy Street, Chicago, was charged with two counts each of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, and three counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He was also accused of selling cocaine near NIU in November. Robinson remained in jail on $175,000 bond and is due in court Monday.
