SYCAMORE – Less than a month after he was convicted of aggravated battery and domestic battery, a 24-year-old Sandwich man is accused of injuring the victim again.

Dalon Ellis, of the 1100 block of East Railroad Street, is accused of pushing his girlfriend, who is three months pregnant with his child, and causing bruises to multiple parts of her body, court records show.

The incident happened about 11 a.m. Friday when Ellis’ girlfriend said she wanted to end her relationship with him, authorities said. The victim obtained a order of protection against Ellis after he was accused of repeatedly kicking and punching her June 24 during an argument over a car stereo, according to court records.

Ellis was sentenced to 2 1/2 years of probation July 24 after pleading guilty to aggravated battery and domestic battery, court records show.

He is now charged with aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery and violating an order of protection. The most serious charge, aggravated domestic battery, is typically punishable by probation or up to five years in prison.

Ellis is scheduled to appear in court today, when bond will be set.
