St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will offer #Prayers2Pass, an interactive prayer event for the students, faculty and staff of Northern Illinois University and anyone else who would like a prayer to navigate the new semester, at 900 Normal Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday.
“We created the Prayers2Pass event so that we could remember students in our prayers as they prepare for the new school year and its challenges,” the Rev. Stacy Walker-Frontjes, rector at St. Paul’s, said in a news release.
Grace Place Campus Ministry also will offer Prayers2Pass at the intersection of Normal Road and Lucinda Avenue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Members of St. Paul’s and Grace Place will provide one-to-one personal short prayers, a prayer wall for written petitions (anonymity respected), and mints and drinks. St. Paul’s also will maintain a prayer presence all day at their Twitter feed @StPaulsDeKalb#prayers2pass. All are welcome to attend any of these events in person or through Twitter.
Whether people are spiritual, religious or neither, all are welcomed at St. Paul’s, no exceptions. St. Paul’s is an open and affirming community serving Christ in the world 24/7. For more information, call Walker-Frontjes at 815-756-4888 or visit www.prayers2pass.com.
