St. Mary’s Sycamore to hold RCIA meeting

Published: Friday, Aug. 22, 2014 5:30 a.m. CDT

The Church of St. Mary in Sycamore will have an informational meeting regarding the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults at 9:15 a.m. Sunday in the Parish Activity Center, 322 Waterman St. in Sycamore.

RCIA is a process through which adults learn about the teachings of Jesus as the Catholic Church has handed them on and put these teachings into practice by living as part of the Catholic community, serving others and praying.

RCIA is for three groups of people:

• Those who have never been baptized in any faith,

• People who were baptized in another faith tradition, and

• Baptized Catholics who have never received the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.

The process is tailored to the individual adult’s calling and background. Inquirers are welcome.
