DeKalb veteran hosts birthday open house

DeKALB – World War II veteran and retired DeKalb police officer Donald Schoo is hosting an open house to celebrate his 90th birthday.

The open house will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Aug. 31 at Faranda’s Banquet Center, 302 Grove St. in DeKalb. The public is welcome to join him and his family for cake, ice cream, cookies, and refreshments. Alcoholic beverages will also be available.
