Quilts of Valor pieced together with blocks sewn by visitors to Genoa's downtown quilt walk last spring will be displayed at Saturday's Open Air Market.

Genoa Main Street will hold its fourth Open Air Market of the summer in the municipal parking lot from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.

Vendors selling such items as fresh produce, local honey, art, and homemade soap will be joined this month by some displays of community interest.

Twenty Quilts of Valor will be on display. These quilts were crafted from the downtown Genoa Quilt and Fiber Arts Walk held earlier this year. Blocks sewn by visitors to the quilt walk were combined into soft, beautiful blankets to be distributed to veterans in veteran hospitals.

Also, the Kishwaukee Valley Heritage Society will have space at the market with information about Pioneer Day, scheduled for Sunday and the Genoa Area Chamber of Commerce will be selling tickets for The Great Genoa Duck Race, which will be held on Sept. 6.
