Garage sale helps Tanzania development

Published: Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014 10:25 a.m. CST

Tanzania Development Support will hold its second fundraising garage sale of the year from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The location of the sale has moved to 607 Emanuel Lane in Sycamore.

Because of very generous contributions from many local residents there will be an abundant selection of quality household items, clothing, holiday décor, furniture, games and toys and more.

Tanzania Development Support, which is headquartered in DeKalb, is a nonprofit, 501 organization with a mission of improving the quality of life of youth, especially girls, in the Mara region of Tanzania by supporting primary and secondary school improvements. In Tanzania, TDS partners with many grassroots organizations to achieve these objectives.

Proceeds from the sale will enable TDS to continue to help the people of the Nyegina community to help themselves. Additional information about what TDS has accomplished with their partners in Tanzania is available at www.tdsnfp.org
