Drinks can sneak empty calories into diet

University of Illinois Extension nutrition and wellness educator Marilyn Csernus will present “Beverages: Empty Calories or Not?” from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Friday at the DeKalb County Extension office, 1350 W. Prairie Drive in Sycamore.

This class will discuss five categories of non-alcoholic beverages – water, soft drinks, fruit/vegetable juices, milk, and functional beverages – and how these beverage choices may have a direct effect on health.
