Student receives doctor of dental surgery degree

Stuart Schelkopf graduated salutatorian from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry in May.

In addition to being a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, Schelkopf received numerous academic awards, including the International Congress of Oral Implantologists Pre-Doctoral Student Achievement Award, the Academy of Osseointegration Award, the Delta Sigma Delta Academic Achievement Award, the Academy of Dental Materials Award and the Illinois State Dental Society Clinical and Behavioral Science Research Award.

Following graduation, Schelkopf will begin a three-year post-graduate residency at UIC in the Advanced Specialty Education Program in Prosthodontics.

Schelkopf is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, and DeKalb High School. He is the son of Charles and Nancy Schelkopf.
