Tina M. Losey, 47, of DeKalb, was charged with aggravated assault.

SYCAMORE — A Sycamore police officer had to move out of the way to avoid being hit when a drunken DeKalb woman drove toward him early Sunday, authorities said.

Police pulled over Tina M. Losey, 47, of the 1000 block of Quail Run, about 1:41 a.m. Sunday after they saw her move outside her lane near the intersection of Orchard Lane and Park Avenue in Sycamore, court records show.

Police asked her to remain in her car, but Losey stumbled out of her 1997 Oldsmobile, according to court records. Then she got back in her car and drove off to a parking lot on the west side of the Park Avenue and Chauncey Street intersection, police said. While there, Losey turned her car around and drove toward the officer, court records show.

Losey posted $500 bail Monday to be released from jail while her case is pending. She was charged with aggravated assault, obstructing a police officer and reckless driving. The most serious charge, aggravated assault, is typically punishable by probation or up to five years in prison.

Losey is next due in court Aug. 28.
