The Sycamore History Museum will celebrate its final Family Fun Day of the season from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Thursday, at the museum, 1730 N. Main St. in Sycamore.

Participants will step back in time and discover what Civil War soldiers did when they were not fighting on the battlefield.

“This program is a great opportunity to spend an enjoyable day with your family and learn some local history at the same time,” Michelle Donahoe, executive director of the museum, said in a news release. “Throughout the day, visitors will have the opportunity to play games, listen to period music, try their hand at some period dances, pitch a tent, and try some period food."

These activities are all connected to the exhibit "General Dutton’s America.” Families are encouraged to bring a picnic and have lunch on the museum's lawn.

There is a charge of $5 per family. For more information, call 815-895-5762 or visit
