Lisa Leady of Genoa was presented with the Mobile Groomer of the Year Award at the Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Awards, the competitive dog grooming industry’s version of the Oscars, which honors the best and brightest groomers, contest judges and pet salons.
This was the fifth Cardinal Crystal Award received by Leady, a certified master groomer and owner of Primp My Pooch Mobile Dog and Cat Salon. Over her 30-year grooming career, she has received numerous other awards, including being a runner-up on Animal Planet’s reality competition show, “Groomer Has It.” In 2012, she founded Lisa Leady Products, a manufacturer of canine ear elixir and loops and leads products. Leady and her husband raise and show smooth fox terriers under the kennel name Pinnacle.
“Lisa’s dedication to and enthusiasm for grooming and her willingness to share her skills with others reflect positively on the grooming world and helps to promote awareness of the importance of proper grooming,” Barbara Denzer, vice president of Cardinal Pet Care, a major manufacturer of pet products and sponsor of the Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Awards, said in a news release. “We are thrilled to present the Mobile Groomer of the Year Award to Lisa, and we congratulate her.”
The Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Awards were founded in 1988 by Cardinal Pet Care President and CEO Tony de Vos and Shirlee Kalstone, then owner of the International Intergroom trade show for competitive grooming, for the purpose of establishing standards of grooming excellence and recognizing professional skills in the competitive grooming industry.
