Young Eagles take to the skies Aug. 16

Published: Monday, July 28, 2014 10:48 a.m. CDT

Ever wondered what your neighborhood looks like from the sky? Or maybe you’re curious how airplanes even work. You might even dream about being a pilot.

If you’re nodding your head “yes” and are between the ages of 8 and 17, you’re ready to take a free Young Eagles flight and see what real pilots do on the ground and in the air.

EAA Chapter 241 is offering just that. Parents can bring their eligible sons and daughters from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 16 to the DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport, 3232 Pleasant St., for a free airplane ride and become a Young Eagle.

DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport is located 1 mile north of Route 38 and 1 mile east of Peace Road on Pleasant Street.

For information, contact Tim Hunter, EAA Chapter 241 Young Eagles director, at 773-718-4278 or email tjhunter724@comcast.net.
