DeKalb man accused of selling cocaine
DeKALB – A 28-year-old DeKalb man accused of selling less than a gram of cocaine to a confidential police source last year was arrested Wednesday.
Tywan J. Frierson, of the 900 block of Ridge Drive, was arrested Wednesday evening outside of his apartment, said DeKalb police Sgt. Steve Lekkas. He remained in jail Thursday unable to post $30,000 bail.
He was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of Hallgren Park, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Frierson's prior criminal history includes DeKalb County convictions for aggravated battery and mob action, according to court records.
The most serious charge Frierson faces, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, is typically punishable by up to 15 years in prison. He is due in court Aug. 13.
