Equine Dreams receives grant from Ideal

Equine Dreams recently received a grant from the Ideal Industries Foundation, which will go toward the care and feeding for their therapy horses.

Equine Dreams is a nonprofit therapeutic horseback riding program dedicated to providing free sessions to children and adults with disabilities. Located in Newark, they program averages 70 to 100 participants each week. Their patient, responsive horses carry riders beyond the confines of their disabilities.

Equine Dreams is unique in that services are provided at no charge. The staff is all volunteers; with six registered and one advanced therapeutic riding instructors, including one physical therapist and one occupational therapist. For more information on Equine Dreams, visit

“We are beyond grateful to the Ideal Industries Foundation. Their long-standing support of our mission has allowed us to continue to offer this valuable service to numerous counties,” Windy Kopecky, board member and registered instructor for Equine Dreams, said in a news release. “Feeding and caring for the horses incurs a tremendous expense and we feel very blessed to have the support of Ideal Industries Foundation.”
