DeKalb Motors donates to Feed’em Soup

DeKalb Sycamore Chevrolet Cadillac GMC set a goal to donate to local charity organizations during 2014. Instead of choosing these organizations on their own, DeKalb Motors is allowing the community to choose which organizations should receive the donations.

Organizations are listed on the DeKalb Sycamore Chevrolet Cadillac GMC Facebook page and community members vote by “liking” the photo of the logo that represents their favorite local charity.

The first round of this contest was conducted in June and was a huge success. Twenty-two charity organizations from the DeKalb and Sycamore area participated; together they received 3,048 votes.

Feed’em Soup Community Project received the most votes and was awarded the first $2,000 donation from DeKalb Sycamore Chevrolet Cadillac GMC. Feed’em Soup’s mission is to empower the community by serving nutritious food with compassion and respect in a restaurant-quality environment to anyone, while also strengthening the community and nourishing hope. The funds will be used to support and sustain that mission.

DeKalb Sycamore Chevrolet Cadillac GMC will host another round of the Facebook donation contest later this year. Charitable organizations that would like to enter the next round should email dekalbmotors1@gmail.com with their information.
