Downtown Sycamore's annual Turning Back Time Weekend, featuring a free family movie outdoors, a cruise night and a car show, will be July 25-27.

The 1950s are making a comeback in Sycamore during Turning Back Time Weekend, Friday through Sunday. Hop into your vintage ride and cruise over to downtown Sycamore for classic cars and live entertainment.

The weekend will kick off with a free outdoor movie at dusk on Friday. Gather your family, lawn chairs and blankets, and head to the parking lot at the corner of Somonauk and Elm streets for a screening of “The Lego Movie.”

Cruise Night will take place from 3 to 11 p.m. Saturday. The Beaux will take the stage from 7 to 10 p.m., bringing back the sounds of the 50s , 60s, and 70s. Cruise Night also will include a Classic Car Cruise Parade, food and beer garden, disc jockey and more. New this year is a poker run with cash prizes for anyone involved with the cruise parade.

For the fourth year, the Cruise Night award line-up will include the Winning Ride trophy and cash prize provided by Auto Meter Products. The winner will be entered into the Auto Meter Products www.WinningRide.com competition for a chance to have their Winning Ride displayed in the Auto Meter Products booth at the 2014 SEMA show in Las Vegas. Vehicle registration will begin at 3 p.m. on the day of the event. Pre-registration for Cruise Night is available at www.discoversycamore.com.

Sunday brings the 16th annual Fizz Ehrler Memorial Car Show to downtown Sycamore. Registration will take place from 8 a.m. until noon, with the award presentation at 3:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of Turning Back Time specials at downtown merchants and restaurants.
