MALTA – The inaugural Amazing Anderson's Sky High Candy Drop will feature free candy and more than 10,000 prizes for children from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The event, originally planned for the Anderson family farm on Twombley Road in Malta, has been moved to Lion's Park at Monroe and Fourth streets in Malta because of the expected crowd. The event will include face-painting, bouncy houses, a dank tank and a juggler.

Lehan Drugs in DeKalb is giving away children's vitamins, while Culver's will give away ice cream. Nestle and Hy-Vee both donated candy, and the Malta Fire Department will have a fire truck and ambulance on hand for children to explore. Overall, there will be about 40 booths, along with a diaper derby, potato sack race, and cookie walk.

Annika Anderson and her husband, Matt, decided to host to event to give families free activities for children.

"Summer's almost over, and there's nothing fun to around here that's free," Annika Anderson said. "I thought it would be fun to do something for everyone."
