SYCAMORE – The Sycamore Public Library is holding two events for children this week.

A “Despicable Me” movie marathon will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Sycamore Public Library, 103 E. State St. “Despicable Me” and “Despicable Me 2” will be shown back to back. The showings are free and open to all, but children younger than 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult. The event is the finale to Wednesday Watches, the summer matinee program.

A Mad Science, Fire & Ice Program will be held Thursday at the library. Dry ice storms, floating giant beach balls and a mad scientist “burp” potion will be displayed for children to learn about chemical reactions, air pressure and states of matter.
