Da'Ron Brown named to Biletnikoff Award watch list

Northern Illinois wide receiver Da'Ron Brown was named the the 2014 Biletnikoff Award watch list on Tuesday, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club announced.

A second team All-Mid American Conference selection in 2013, Brown led the Huskies in receiving yards (752) on 46 receptions with nine touchdowns, also a team high among Huskie wide receivers.

The Chicago native turned in the best game of his career against Ball State last year, recording career highs in receptions with eight -- including two touchdowns -- and in receiving yards (209). Brown also caught a career-long pass of 58 yards against the Cardinals. 

Brown is the second Huskie in as many days and the fourth Huskie overall to named to a preseason watch list. Linebacker Jamaal Bass was named to the Rotary Lombardi Award watch list on Monday, Tommylee Lewis earned a spot on the Paul Hornung Award watch list July 7 and tight end Luke Eakes was named to the Mackey Award watch list July 8.
